    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

850G shocks?

Looking at the pix of this shock can you tell if this is a progressive spring shock? It looks like it has 2 seperate springs mated up on the shock and was wondering if this was an aftermarket or stock shock. One spring is almost twice as long and the shock has 4 dampening settings. Any comments on quality or performance of a 2 spring setup? better than air shocks?
 
It sort of looks like a Progressive series 12. It is definately not OEM. Is that on your 1100G?
 
It is now. Off an 850G parts bike and was trying it out except due to winter weather it may be awhile before a road test.
 
I think I showed you this in another thread. Top is stock with dampening adjust at the top. Bottom is progressive with only preload adjustmet on the bottom.

Thanks, you did send this pic before, but now you clarified which was the progressive. I thought the progressives had the 2 stage(different spacing in the coil from one end to the other) looking spring but you're saying the bottom one with evenly spaced coils is the progressive?
Also, what my pic off an 850G shows are 2 seperate springs of different coil spacing mated together in the one shock. The G models uses the eyelet to eyelet not what your E model has (eyelet to clevis?)
Stupid question, but does progressive refer to the brand name only or to the type of spring in a generic sense that all manufacturers use?
