Bolts and nuts?? 1982 GS450

Anyplace where I can a list of the sizes of the nuts and bolts that are used on my bike? Particularly the ones used on the frame. I painted the frame but don't want to put the rusty looking bolts and nuts back on.

Parts fiche, and look at the numbers and it will tell you the size of bolt, it's the only way. or if your bike was the same as my 1983 GS750E, I could give you a list of all the bolts and nuts, I created my own Excel spreadsheet

A wire wheel on your grinder will work wonders for all of those pieces and especially easy if they are already off the bike. Then you can paint them when they are clean if you like. I know that on my grinder the wheel tends to accumulate a bit of oil buildup, but I think that oil tends to keep the bolts from rusting out.

There are kits to nickle plate those pieces as well. In fact there may be DIY methods that cost next to nothing, if you like the look. Nuts and bolts are a forgotten part of a resto IMO and it's a detail that shows how much effort is put into your work. Obviously changing the slimy little screws on the motor to stainless steel allen head bolts are a must, and those kits are at Z1 enterprises. That is more for the future to avoid having to use an impact driver to remove them, but they look good as well.
