    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bonus to the PO

Normally the PO is an accursed personage who mangles things with great enthusiasm, and while mine was no exception on a number of items I would like to proclaim that for once a PO came through for me in a pinch. Riding back from Sturgis, the bike suddenly lost its dashboard and turn signals. Popped the fuse box and sure enough, the fuse to the turn signals etc was burnt. Imagine my surprise to discover that the PO actually had the spares still in the fuse box cover, so I was able to swap out and ride home with no issues.

For those of you who regularly cuss the PO, let us take a moment and reflect that at least one was not a complete nitwit.

amen to that :)

my gs came with an already upgraded rr and it was wired directly to the battery, just as it is suggested on this site
relevant wire-connectors have been replaced too

all good :)

Whover gets ahold of my bike when I'm done with it
:confused::confused::confused:

Nitwits?

Nitwits?

The POs that are nitwits are the one who let these fine machines sit for 20 years somewhere unused gumming up and rusting. These bikes deserve to be ridden!

I have to agree.. if your done with it.. pass it on so it may live and be ridden by another! :D

I have cursed my PO a time or two. Any one know who he was ?

+1 on PO's being nitwits. Well, PO's that think they're "fixing" something. PO's that take their stuff to the dealer are a blessing! You know it's had more than what's needed done to it.

we salute you, mr. p.o that used masking tape to insulate their hacked in wiring repairs and wonder why the stator, r&r and turn signal controller are fried. real men of genius.

Ya know, in spite of the problems I've had with my 84 Kat, I gotta commend the PO for not hacking it up. Everything is there, complete, original, and intact. THANK YOU!

And as far as the 82 Kat goes, I thank the good Lord and the PO who did his homework and properly jetted for the pipe and pods, along with the Dyna coils, steel braided lines, ATK fork brace, and (sweetest of all) Metmachex swingarm. THANK YOU!
