I recently bought a 82 GS750T that is in very clean condition, but ist has been sitting a long time, and the carbs were leaking fuel. My first thought was bowl gaskets, so I changed them, reassembled everything, and still leaked. So, I tore everything down (again) and found bad "o" ring on connecting tube. cleaned carbs, reassembled. Now runs like crap. Tore everything down for a third time, ordered K&L carb kits, installed, cleaned, set float levels and reassembled. runs better, but still like crap. wont idle sputters at all rpms. tore everything down again, installed new idle air adjuster screws I left out, set at 1 3/4 turns out, reassembled time #4. now bike idles exellent at 1000 rpms but if I ease into the throttle it sputters, and also sputters while holding steady rpm. also can tell its still sputtering at 70mph cause the tach is fluxing. When im stopped at a light I can smell gas fumes, so i thing its running rich?? but after becoming a expert on R&R of the carbs thru OTJ work im at my ropes end. Ant Ideas? The only thing I can think of that may be a culprit is the air jet that came in the kits were 170's and the jets I removed were 160'S
