    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Carb question

If you have your carbs off your bike and go out and measure the inner diameter of intake and output bores I will check for you.
You may need to switch out a few of your jets.
 
Forgot to mention measure size of 850 carbs as opposed too 750 carbs.
 
The carbs are still on the bike I have my old boots on engine side and they fit on them
 
The list shows the jet sizes you will need and the jet sizes installed on the 750 carbs.

What is wrong with the carbs on there now?

You will need to replace a few jets according to the chart.
Your recommended pilot screw settings are different also.
There is info for rebuilding your carbs on his site.
That will come in handy for pulling and replacing jets.
Some people use heat to help the process.
I have found that soaking the carbs for a short bit in carb dip helps in taking jets out for complete disassemble and proper dip.
Should help you as recommended that you check and rebuild carbs that are in need if the history on them is not known.
Saves you trouble down the road, or on the side of it.
 
I broke the post for the fuel/air screw on number 4 carb it stays in there but don't seem to safe with the threads missing
 
Both the 81 GS750 and the 80 GS850 used the same BS32SS carbs with the same size pressed in main air jet so they're a direct swap from a straight body standpoint. Some of the other jets (main jet, needle, needle jet and pilot) are a different size. You can swap out the body from the GS750 and replace all the jets and slide assembly from the damaged GS850 carb. All parts will swap straight out including the pilot screw. If you just need a replacement body, I have one of those. Just tell me which carb 1-4 from left to right (while sitting on the bike) is the damaged carb.
