A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi guys, new to the forum. I'm going to place this build here, and update as we go along. I have a customer who I will be building a restomod Katana for. I do however need a donor, and have placed a "wanted" thread here >>>> http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?242801-GS1000-or-GS1100-Katana-for-Custom-Build

Would appreciate any leads you can provide!

The build program is as follows:

  • Bandit Swinger conversion
  • Custom billet triples
  • OHLINS USD forks (designed for ZX14R) with radial mount calipers
  • OHLINS fully adjustable rear shocks
  • OZ Racing wheels
  • Brembo brakes (rotors, calipers, levers, master, etc)
  • Magical Racing carbon fiber bodywork and seat
  • APE 1327 kit with Gorilla block, Web cams, head work, bla bla bla lol

I'm currently also building a restomod GS1100ES, and also a pretty trick Honda CB1100RD. Looking forward to sharing some builds with you all!

Cheers.

Question, what are you guys using for modern switch gear conversions on the Kats / GS's? GSXR or other? I am looking to do a conversion both on the Kat project and as well the GS1100ES currently in build. For my Honda CB-F builds I use all switch gear from a Honda RC51.

I went with late model gs500. I think it was an 02 or an 03. It means having to solder new connectors in place though. I'm not sure which models share the connectors. I can't wait to see this build come together.

Sounds like the GSXR1000 (2007) left switch is a great alternative thanks to the recommendation of Rob over at suzuki-katana.com. He also provides the wiring schematic to do the conversion on his site.

Found a donor Kat for my Arizona client thanks to greg_b! Excited to getting started!

I'm doing a restomod 82 1100 Kat as well. 1993 Gsxr 1100 front and 1200 Bandit rear. I bought new left and right switches from Suzuki. A guy in Acton has custom billet gsxr tripples. I will be in Ottawa for work in the new year and will look you up. There are 2 750 Kats in Calgary for sale. 999$ for the pair.
