I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

One of the BS32SS carbs on my 1981 GS750E is leaking. There is a crack running longitudinally through the venturi which appeared after I rebuilt the carbs, probably the result of me over tightening the main jet. The crack seems to allow gas to seep into the airway from the fuel inlet chamber.

I plan to disassemble the cracked carb and rebuild it using a replacement casting. I found a set of carbs from a 1980 GS650 on ebay. I am aware that various GS models used carbs with different flange diameters. Do you know if the bodies of these carburetors are the same? Are there any other important differences that I should be aware of?

Thanks

I would try to wait and get the exact same carbs. Besides how the carbs mount, there can be differences inside that could give you trouble. Jetting may be different, etc. Are the 650's carbs also BS32SS ? Externally, there could be differences in choke assembly, throttle cable routing/throttle pulley 'fit", etc.

Keith,

Thanks for your reply. My repair manual says my carbs are BS32SS's, but it only covers 750's. BikeBandit.com says replacements for my carburetor are no longer available. Aside from the crack in my #3 throttle body, my rack is in good condition. I was hoping I could use all of the internal and external components from my cracked carb with the #3 throttle body from the 650.

I guess I'll take your advice and keep looking for a rack of carbs from a 750. If anyone knows of a resource that details what carbs came on each of the GS models, and what the differences are between them, I would appreciate hearing about it. I've tried searching the forums, but I haven't found anything definitive yet.

I think as long as you reuse all of your original jets and just use the body any BS32 carb body would work from GS650?/750/850/1000?. You are not using the complete carb rack so the spacing doesn't matter

Why don't you post a topic asking 650 owners what size carbs they have?
You might get an answer and maybe a photo. You could also call a Suzuki dealer.
Also, look in the "used parts for sale" at this website. I just saw a 650 being parted out and there might be a 750 somewhere.

The 650 carb body is the exact same as the GS850. I had to replace some 850 carb bodies once so I went to the fiche numbers to verify that the bodies were the same. I believe that the 750 also has the same body, but would check the fiche to match the numbers to be sure (bare bodies #s only, not carb assemblies). If they are the same, then transfer everything that is different to the good bodies. The 850 ran perfectly after the switch, by the way.
