This is for a 1980 gs400, though I'm sure it applies to most other GS bikes as well:
When checking the engine oil level with the oil filler cap/engine oil inspection gauge, should the cap (after wiping the dipstick) be screwed back down and then taken out again to get the proper reading, or should it just be taken out, wiped, and measured without screwing it in again?
