DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have the opportunity to have a Powder Coating shop completely dismantle and powder coat any parts on my GS450L that I want. I can pick any color.

I know I could stay with your basic black, but it is for my 13 year old son. Any ideas on some wild but good looking color combinations to use (Frame, Tank, Rims, etc..). If all else fails - I'll stick with Black. but I would like some ideas on other color combos that would look good.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions

Hope I can help you with color choices as I am a auto painter by trade.
1) For the frame powder coat it black
2) Powder coat the swingarm silver along with the rims and front forks if
you choose not to polish them.
3) If you decide to powdercoat the tank look at a blue or a red depending
on your taste. Your choices are endless.
4) Look throught the GS photo gallery to view some of the bikes.
5) One color combination that is very nice is the RM line of dirt biks in
yellow with yellow inner rims with polished edges and matching yellow
seat.
If you would like me to e-mail you some photos please e-mail me with your e-mail address and I will be happy to show you some of the color combinations i am speaking about.

Best of luck, Regards, Archie

Thanks for the quick response Archie!- I sent some pics of the GS450 in it's Natural State. Anyone else have any opinions I would appreciate them.

I would talk to my son. If it's a surprise, you can still be sneaky and look at some pictures together and get some idea's of what he likes.

Awhile back I painted a bike with a muted gold metalflake frame and charcoal metalflake bodywork. It actually looked pretty good with a polished engine.

I like colored frames, personally - I'm about to have mine coated grey.

The only advice that I'd give you is that if you're going to powdercoat your tank, make sure it's a color you can match with paint for your plastic side panels....

And post some photos when your'e done!

A titanium color on the frame. As close to chrome as you can get for wheels, swingarm, triple clamp, and fork lowers.

Hammertone looks really cool......... I have seen it on a lot of drag cars
