    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

way too many diodes in my opinion.
You could do with less than half - and save a dollar ;)

Very easy to connect up. I had to go through & test each connection to figure out which color wire related to which number etc.

how does that wire up then? it says you need an electronic tacho and speedo so where does it get its input to determine what gear it is in??? :confused:

It uses the stock Suzuki module at the shifter. You basically just wire this in directly in place of the stock lights (the 750ES had 5 little bulbs in the gauge cluster). It's not intelligent, put 12v across different wires to get it to display different numbers. Really simple. :)

ahhhhhhh, i see. not something you could easily fit to a stock GS then...
(not that i want one...daft idea if you ask me :confused:)
 
There are ones like that with the hall sensor available on EBay too. I bet it's cheaper to make your own though.

The only thing I've read is they can be confused by a miss-shift or a false neutral etc. No big deal though it would still be useful.

Not sure... if you could replace the old module on the 78's etc with a newer one from a model that has a gear indicator stock (my 80 1000G had one for example) then it would work.

That's awesome but what about 6 ?

Maybe add another line that activates 5 and another diode to the last segment to make a 6.

I like the digital numeral gadget thing and it can be wired to use the stock suzuki gear position selector on the shift drum -- Might try it -- but I really like the colors.

I am making another custom dash right now - with a GSXR tach and shift light.
 
Wow that's a big chunky complicated way to go... I much prefer the stacked diode one, much more compact...
 
Yeah things over on the twins site are a little more complicated than necessary :P
