A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Done, for now

So, finally the weather has turned and the project is on time and close to budget. Likely, I'll be doing more riding and less of all the other stuff. Theres still a few bugs to iron out but basically this is it.

Nice Looking Scoot there Bopi. Hope mine turns out that well finished...

What did you use for your tube plugs? Thats one area where mine looks a little, um...backyard mechanic. I like the looks of yours.

Good job. I'm liking that.
Amazing how many different styles you can do from a basic GS!!

Is that a standard front fender cut down or something bought elsewhere?
its just the style and size I want for my bike....

Nice job Bopi,

Monkey..Mike and Bopi both used H-D Dyna fenders, I've been following both both interest.

Mike, when you gonna finish yours?

and she runs great....... good thing too because its been a long winter.

Front fender is stock with a little hacksaw, back is the HD dyna
railplugs were turned in a lathe,
seat is a size 4 skirt w/ aluminum pan and a little (lot) of super glue

by the way, those hills have alot of twists to them. i'll have to go and explore some of them.

Soon. I have a long weekend coming up, and the weather is going to be perfect for hiding out in the garage. All that remains is upolstering the seat, rerouting the wire harness, and paint.

That looks great Bopi! That is very similar to the look I am going for with my GS. Yours looks a lot better with those original front turn signals gone. I had planned to lower mine back down to get rid of the gap between the wheel and the rear fender; but I see that when I mount my dyna fender, most of the gap will be covered by the fender sides.

rides smoother too'

stock suspension /stock airbox.

i'll see what I can do for you mike, maybe by the end of the week
would you prefer alum or stainless. also the plugs can be used as extensions as you'll have to recut the tube which means i can make em any length you need. Bullets maybe. I'd have to look at how set back your mounting screws are to judge the amount of shoulder they'll need.

That looks great.I see several of us here are building custom bikes along the same lines.

Looks absolutely beautiful. Everything flows - it doesn't look slapped together at all. Definitely the kind of look I'm shooting for with my GS. Enjoy!

I think your bike is very very well done.It looks like a factory custom and that is intended as a compliment.Ron B

Well thanks for the compliments gang, so heres the current dilemma (sp)

Some guy just listed an 81 gsl 1100 in the local paper for a very reasonable price. Its actually got hard luggage , fairing , the works
The wife of course won't go for this again .

Maybe i should teach her to ride. Could avoid some fighting.

Hmmm
