    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

dropped while idling

now the idle is all over the place and sounds like it is going to die and runs slightly rough, any ideas?
 
Just try running it a while. Oil got forced into the cylinders and gas slopped around in the carbs and into the intakes. It may take a minute or two to burn everything off. If it fell on the right side the ignition cover didn't take a hit did it?

it did, but there is no dent, the suzuki cover just fell off. Now its abit harder to start and the idle will be around 1100 at first, but then if left alone on the driveway, will randomly jump to 3-4k and back down and then settle, and continue this until it eventually dies.

and carbs are cleaned out, i have ridden it a bit since then and it seems to be going away little by little, its just i dont like having the feeling that its going to die everytime i have to come to a stop
 
Check the intake boots and see if they developed any separations in them. Did the air box side boots come off the carbs?
 
If you didn't do any damage to the ignition and the carb boots are all fine check the plugs, especially number 4. If it was running on it's side oil may have pumped past the rings and fouled that plug. That wouldn't explain the rise in rpm though. Could be a stuck float but that should result in a puddle under the bike.
 
no boots came off and there doesnt appear to be any air leaks, all gaskets and rings have been recently replaced.
im going to check the plugs when i get home, they are the only thing i have not checked yet, that and i need to do a valve check and carb sync, but currently lack the tools to do so at the moment. an y more suggestion would be helpful
 
You might try loosening and then moving your throttle assembly around a bit. If it fell over on the right side, it might've jammed the throttle assembly too far onto the bar.
 
I've been running it a while today and the problem seems to have gone away, now i just have to deal with the battery draining as i ride and it will be 100%

That would be a problem. Maybe not the only one but certainly a big one. If it does start charging take the time to go through all the connections and clean and tighten them. Maybe even use one of the pastes that prevent oxidation when reconnecting everything. It will make your electrical system's life much easier.
 
ive riden it quite a bit since fixing the ground wire and have had no faults with the bike or idle since.
