DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey guys I'm asking this question because I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. I've been through a million posts on this forum but can find a specific answer. I have an 1981 gs750L totally stock and I want to upgrade my coils because I'm going on my fist multi day road trip and one of the coils on my 850 just crapped out the other day. From what I can see everyone favors the dynatek green coils over the acell coils. My question is when I check my coils I get 3.8 and 3.6 ohms on the primary side which is good. Now does this mean that I need 3 ohm coils even though it's closer to 4 ohms? I'm assuming it does but just wanted some reassurance. Also I read that is ok to go up to 5 ohm coils but not to go lower then the stock coil ohms. It is an inductive type ignition also correct? Non cdi. Thanks for any help

If it were me, I wouldn't worry too much about your coils going out. It's a very rare instance when a coil on a GS actually fails. In most cases it's either connector or igniter related issues. If you do decide to change them out then go with the green 3ohm Dyna's.
