A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I wanted to know on a 1980 850 with a dynojet stage 3 with mods like pod filters and open exhaust modded stock 4 into 2 with hi flow baffles will it run right? Good or bad combo?

Man, do you have a lot of reading in your future.

Long story made short, you will end up swapping jets and adjusting needles several times in order to get it running right. You'll probably also have to do half a dozen other things to clean up the air leaks in the rest of the system. On a non-running bike, your best assumption is that everything rubber needs replacing. And don't forget to check the valves or it'll never run well enough to get it the carbs right.

I have replaced boots on the head and o-rings and checked valves and the bike ran before I got it I just torn it down and built back up, the quest is the dynojet kit worth the money?

I put a dynojet kit in with pods and 4 into 1 in a 1000 and it worked perfect for me.
If you have the time and the knowledge i am sure you could do it cheaper.

Hey welcome fellow Nh rider! I'm located up the way above the notch. Will be down in your area in the next few weeks for some beach time. Anyways the dynojet kit is beyond simple and absolutely worth it. My bike ran like garbage through multiple jetting attempts with stock needle etc but after I swapped in the DJ kit it was spot on on the first try. Swap the jet, swap the needle, insert air restrictor, and drill the vacuum slide hole a bit bigger (bit included in kit) then uncap idle air screws and set them out 2.5 turns from light seat. Do it now. You won't regret it.

Sweet that's what I wanted to hear it not my first bike build more like the third and have done jetting testing, just a pain the butt and really don't want to do it just a drop in more or less with moddifcation!!!

Be very careful with the supplied drill bit for the slide, they are sh1t. I would suggest buying a good one if you dont have one already.
