In discussing Leela this weekend with her previous owners, it has come to my attention that she's been bored out. I thought she had an unusual amount of power for her advertised size (750). 8) I'm looking at doing a full rebuild this winter in my father's heated garage, you know, all seals and gaskets... Having never done this this on any engine naturally, this new knowledge has me even more unsure. Haynes and Clymer don't seem to talk about engines that have been bored out. Are her enhanced assets likely to require anything special? Will the standard gasket set from partsnmore.com work for me or am I going to need something else?
Also, on my ride yesterday with my wife, her '73 Honda CB350 got all cranky when she got down to half a tank of petrol. We switched her over to reserve but that didn't seem to make any difference. It's like when the gas gets down to half a tank, she only runs on one cylinder. I managed to get her to a gas station and topped her off with 2 gallons of unleaded and she ran just fine! What's up with that? Sould I look into a petcock rebuild? The shop just cleaned and rebuilt the carbs. Any ideas on what would be causing this odd behavior.
