Extending a swingarm on a budget-Katman / Others?

Has anyone found a 3"-4" swingarm extension that works on the old 83 1100E? I am very intersted in eventually switching to a GSXR front end and I would like to get the longer swingarm to match up with the seat length.

I have been reading post after post and it seems most people are doing full swingarm swaps, wheel swaps, brake carrier swaps, 530 chain conversions with off set sprockets, all new spacers (which I wouldn't have a clue how to get measured or turned. removing/rewelding the brake stay, re-welding the dual shock mounts etc. Seems to be way more expensive than I could afford in the short term.

Is it possible to purchase through Katman a complete kit of what is required? (pricey but had to ask).

Is there a more cost effective way just to get a little length on the swingarm and the work on the complete elephant "one bite at a time"?

Thanks,
Gary

I believe GG Performance or Specialities still dows GS swingarms.

Extensions or full swingarms Jay? I have found a few full swingarm companies and cringed at the cost. Extensions (even used may be the way to go for me (perhaps get them welded like katman had stated somewhere) might be a more reasonable solution if i can find them.

I can't see myself going bigger than the 170-180 MM tire even when i do further mods, and they are said to fit the stock swingarm width.

I found GG performance but it looks to be engines only, GG specialties is turning up no usable links. :(

http://tracstore.myshopify.com/coll...ucts/standard-aluminum-swingarms#.UgCNAvko46Y Trac Dynamics also still do the older GS swing arms. But there is that word budget that they don't understand. Here is another pic of the arm I have. I believe it should be plenty strong also.

How many inches over stock is that? I am not sure of the stock swingarm length and i am at work. I am very interested if it isn't what your looking for.depending on where in south central KY i could probably road trip and grab it.

I have a extended swingarm that is on my ES. It used to have 180 hp. Now it has 80... no need for the longer swingarm...I will send pics and maybe we can do something...

This is about the length I am looking to achieve. Searching for a deeper pocket Corbin as well. As things progress in winter 9and money willing), I want to do a front end conversion, wheel and brake conversion, 530 sprocket and chain conversion etc. 1st pic is closer to the eventual end project someday. colors may vary. I would like to retain shocks for daily use as well.

That is 6 inches over. I actually wanted 4 over but 6 might be ok when I move the wheel all the way up. Won't know exactly until I mount it. I'll pm you if I decide to get rid of it if you have not found one by then. If you know a competent welder you might lengthen your stock one the same way for now and not need special spacers etc.;)

Keep me in the loop, I'll be on the edge of my seat. I may have to go the welder route, just not 100% sure if anyone in the area is qualified for a job that has my life in their hands.

Tbird,
I posted those pics and have found about 13 others with the same stance. I can't however find the owners, or any rebuild threads to garner information from. if you have any luck please let me know as well. I have yet to find anyone who knows the owners.
