A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Having a heck of a time getting the flywheel of the end of the crankshaft on my 85 GS750.Need to get it off to fix my starter clutch. Will button it up and order a puller if i need to,thread size is 14mm.

So you've tried threading in 14mm bolt till it hits crank, tap on bolt, tighten some more,rinse/repeat till rotor falls off taper?

After looking at the manual again I can see they want to get something to attach to the outside threads. Can't do that today so she went back together:(Yes I cleaned out the flywheel.

An old trick on the 8 valve was using a slide hammer with the swing arm bolt that screws straight in the centre hole. Of course there's always the correct tool which can be found on fleabay

Apparently not! What is the external diameter ? 32mm?
Plus, I thought only the bigger motors had this external threaded hub. My 650 has 16 mm internal.
I didn't think to put the caliper to it:-\\\

No internal thread on this flywheel,#@*& *&#@#&$%^ %$*#*!

You need to get a puller and an impact.
I do believe that that is a small end crank.
It is a 35mm x 1.5 thread I believe.

I suppose this is a Suzuki only thing and I need to buy a Suzuki specific puller.Any leads on where to get one?I have an impact.

Fits a few other bikes, maybe my local dealer has one I can borrow:pray:

if there is no internal thread what actually holds rotor onto the end of the crank

After going back 4 times we found the proper puller,it's a 30x1.5.At least I think it's 1.5.Got the flywheel off to find the starter clutch was tight.Put it back together and the rattle has stopped and I'm not sure why.
