A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I know they look old a nerdy. But that's what I like actually. Has anyone found univeral fork gaiters which fit our bikes?

I saw a UK based online parts dealer that has them, I can't think of the name, but a google search should help. Also, I like painting the fork lowers, headlight shells and instrument pods on old bikes to really retro them.

BTW, I love MOBA, too. I have one of the books and everybody is amazed when they see the "fine art" you guys have up in Boston!

I think Daystar is the company I bought mine from. I had to measure the critical dimensions and then go from there. It's been a while since I bought them so I'm not for sure about it being Daystar. They're out there though. Keep looking.

I got gaiters from a local dirt bike shop. Just got the closest length on the long side, cut them off at the bottom and zip tied them to the dust boot. The zip tie doesn't show and they look like they were made for the bike.

After you remove the dist boot off the bottom fork assembly, the measure the size of the top, you should then be able to get a boot to go over top of this part. The down tube shouldn't be a problem for fitting just that casting. And length shouldn't be an issue. I found that Yamaha ones will fit on a honda, most dealers should be able to get you a fit.

Matt posted this pick of his winter project in the Post a picture of your bike! thread, I think these are the gaters your talking about on his bike.

I've used fork gaiters on my 1982 1100sz katana since 1984, including winter use in the uk on salted roads, result, one set of fork seals in 23 years and the chrome on the fork legs is as new. Here they are about ?8 per set check out ebay .
