A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Get you an old furnace blower fan and wire it to the high speed wire. Sit it on a milk crate and wire it to the crate. Stick it right in front of the jugs and let it rip. This is an excellent source of plenty of air to let it run for a good long time without any worries of overheating. I would let itm run a good 20 minutes or so and then shut her down...well after it has stopped smoking.

If it sits a wweek or so after that and the seals are bad, she will most likely smoke again for a few minutes upon restarting. This will at least give you an indication. Now the question is this..is it using oil at an alarming rate or just needs a few ounces now and then.
My 80 1000G has a oil consumption addiction, but I have learned to live with it, it don't smoke but it still uses some, about a half qt every 6-7 hundred miles. If you love something, sometimes you have to learn to live with the addiction's.:D

Well I bolted the header back on this bike I picked up today , changed the oil and threw the carbs on from the other 1000 as they have just been gone through. , put a battery in and fired it up. it sounds good now motor noises, revs well clutch works goes through the gears good. This bike is in much better shape then the other, so it will be the one that I put back stock, and I will modify the other . More projects oh boy

Your pictures are unposting themselves, can you repost them with IMG so they're here and not linked?

The bike also came with the title, stock exhaust and a pipe looks like an old Kerker, or Mac. The handle bars are tweeked , and tank has been replaced
It's nice to have friends
:D

I don't think I've ever seen an E with the standard tank on it

Is the tank in good shape?

Yes the tank is in good shape, It is in better shape than the black one, but has a few small dents to deal with. The black tank is rusty inside and out but I should be able to repair it .
