A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok, I went to adjust and clean my front brake light switch and I took care expecting it to be sping loaded as I was told it was, well the spring effect was delayed and shot out right as I removed my cupped hand and now I don't think I have all the pieces or if I do I can;t figure out how they go back. I have the little coil spring and the U shaped brass piece and those are the only to pieces I have that go inside the lever assembly above the contact plate. Can someone please help this isn't in my haynes manual and a picture or diagram would be awesome!!

Thanks

BTW it is 80* out side and I REALLY want to ride to work this evening

there should also be a square piece of black plastic with a tit on one side that goes in the spring, the brass contact goes over the opposite end from the spring

The small plastic piece with the tit usually does not fly out, check up in the switch to see if is still there; grease holds it in place. You need all three pieces for it to work.

There is a little black piece of plastic that the u-shaped plate and spring attaches to. Often times it gets caught up in the lever itself, becasue it is the little arm that sits in the recess in the lever itself. Sometimes it gets cruddy in there, and it looks like part of the brake lever.

The plastic piece fell out and after I regained my senses I said hold it! I had an extra cluth lever sitting here I could take apart and low and behold I saw the piece I was missing and robbed it!!!  Anyway, I did end up finding the one that dropped out. Thanks for the help guys!
