A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I got a fairing for the GS and it's going to require moving the turn signals.
It's made for an SV650..

They either need to move back and up near the top of the tree, below the lower tree or maybe back onto the frame..

Anyone done this or have a picture of one?

Ever think about using a set of the mini LED lights? A friend just mounted the carbon fiber look ones to a custom GS1100E's tailsecton.

My preference is stock everything but these do look really clean.

Do something custom, get some different turns and make them work with that fairing

Whatever I do be it aftermarket lights or stock they have to be moved..
The fairing covers the stock location.
I was thinking of making a mount tab form angle aluminum stock and mounting it under the lower tree pinch bolts.

Another idea was mini LED lights on the ends of the lower tree chrome cover.

This is what I'm dealing with..
The fairing is made for an SV650..
except for covering the turn signal mounts it's a bolt on job..
I'll have to also remove the chrome trim on the lower tree as the fairing will rub on it.
That kinda sucks because I was going to mount a pair of flush mount turn signals in place of the reflectors. I may still make brackets to do that.

Go with your plan for fabbing up brackets to mount them somwhere close to those reflectors. Some small LEDs on short stalks would look nice.

Alternatively, you could get some surface mounts and fit them to the fairing or even better use short stalks and mount them at the bottom of the fairing.

Nice fairing by the way.

Cheers,

I used the aluminum Emgo signals with smoked lenses, and made a mount to bolt them to the frame.
