I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey there- noob here. I just got my first bike a 1980 gsl 850 I think the petcock is leaking fuel into the #2 cyl- poor running sometimes, smoke.
the problem I have is I cannot seem to find a replacement online, the parts breakdown show a bolt on petcock(2 bolts, flange and gasket) mine screws on with a double threaded nut. Any suggestions??? Where would I find one?

Thanks alot!

Hey Nick, Welcome....:D

They sell rebuild kits for the petcocks....ebay has them...I think Z1 does too....and I'm sure other places...
Sometimes rebuilding them works, sometimes it doesn't...

The most "for sure" way of doing it, is to just buy a new OEM one through a Suzuki dealer...
Either local or flatoutmotorcycles.com or bikebandit.com can get ya one.
I think they run in the $40-50 range...but you know it will work.

Or you can go aftermarket, like a Pingal, for about a C-note...

HTH,

The unit listed on bikebandit doesn't look the same, that unit bolts to tank, mine screws on. @ flatout motorcycles they want $175.00 for the unit that looks correct. JEEZ! thats alot! I am gonna try to find a suzuki dealer by me and see what they sho and how much. Thanks alot!

I just looked at Flatout. On the fuelcock page, item #1, part number 44300-45011, Cock Assy, Fuel. Price: $62.03.
It appears that you happen to have the L model, it's a different part number. 44300-47270, Price: $58.74

Sounds like you might have some sort of aftermarket replacement petcock already -- can you post a photo?

I'll try to get a pic tonight. the tank has been j-b welded by the petcock, i guess it could be aftermarket. I dunno, its ALL new 2 me!

This is info about my 750L, but I suspect the 850 may be the same...

The 1980 L model only has prime and on, and there isn't a lever, you move it with a screwdriver. So it is easy to tell if you are on the original or not, if it has a lever , it's not original.

I can take a photo of mine if it is any use to you, it is oem.
