DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS1000 Exhaust

Anyone remember the name of the shop, I believe it was in Ca. that was building a exhaust system for a GS1000?

The place is only 10 miles from where I am right now. The owner seems like a nice guy. I was over at The Frame Shop in Stanton changing some fastners on my 1000G. He came out of the building, leaving, and stopped to tell me that he had the Wes Cooley version. I said something to the effect that they were a popular styling package, but this is a shaft drive touring bike. He said something like, "No, I mean I have the old Yoshimura bike Wes Cooley raced". I've stopped into the shop a couple times. I think I saw a couple movie bikes he built there, too. Angelins Jolie rode one maybe?

Hmmm this is the only original Wes Cooley Yosh race bike I have ever hear being privately owned..

Mr. Wes Cooley, reunited with the machine he won the 1980 AMA Superbike title aboard. The GS is owned by Superbike collector Brian O?Shea, and runs like a champ. Cooley did laps for the crowds each and every day of VMD 2016, and the fans ate it up.

Just what he said. The mas has worked for Yoshimura and does restore race bikes for a living though. I can't vouch.

Here is a privately owned Yoshimura Suzuki that Wes raced. It's in "Katana Ken's" collection in Cleveland, Ohio.

I don't have any real replicas. Sorry for the buzz kill. What I do have and am working towards is GS1000S. Had one, raced it, kept good sheet, bla, bla blah. Picked up a virgin, Vetter saved 78 gs1000. Basically good, but not stored in a humidity appropriate area. Anything chrorme is...Interesting . Bike will NOT be GS1000S perfect. It leaked oil from the head gasket on up, everything needed work except body, switches, seat. All there. As my surgectly repaired hand is healing Im collecting parts doing small stuff. Here's my first issue. I have a very nice Yosh race exhaust. It is for a GS1100. The only difference is the rear mount. I would have to cut the frame support for the exhaust. I really don't want to cut a virgin bike frame. As I said she's a leaker. I figured if it needs top end gaskets, shimming, carbs, ignition, screw it. Im going for a 1100g top end and more. Im rambling. Heres what needs cutting. This muffler support needs to go. Unless you guys can give me a better way, besides getting a new exhaust from motogp, (which is 1/2 what I Pd for the bike) it is getting chopped.
