A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi all. I found a rack of gs1100g (no year given) on ebay. Seller claims will fit gs1000g with different jets. All I want is one carb body. The oem part #s are different. Does anyone know if the carb bodys are the same ?
My sincere thanks to all the contributors to this site !

They both use BS34SS carbs, only the main jets are different inside.

On the outside, you will have a different "choke" mechanism. Unless you change your left handgrip to accommodate the '82-and-up "choke" activator, you will want to put your 1000 linkage ('80 or '81) on your 1100 carbs.

Or, if you are just changing the one body, there is no problem at all, just make sure you CLEAN it, replace the o-rings and install the correct jets.

.

Finally got a rack of carbs, will be posting extra parts for sale soon. One question, the butterfly valve from my carb is 6J140. The new carbs are 6J135. Do I need to change out butterfly valves ?

Hi Ms. luvnwunderwoman,

Or are you a male who "luvs" a "wunderwoman"? :o

Anyway, the BS34SS carb bodies are the same despite the different number on the butterfly valves. Just make sure the jetting is correct. You'll find a carb spec chart on my little website along with some other goodies you may find helpful. Here's the S.W.A.G. :)

If you are here you probably have a 30 year old motorcycle that needs about 20 years worth of maintenance. You'll find all kinds of helpful tips, procedures, manuals, diagrams, "how-to" guides, etc, in the links below. Let's get started.

Let me dump a TON of information on you and share some GS lovin'. :D
