A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It's got potential!

Never liked the styling of the "cruiserized" Jap standards. Change the bars and seat. Add a tailcone, chop the rear fender, shorten the front. Use a Li-ion battery and remote the electrics to open up the center. Even that tank could be used if you pound some knee indents into it with a bean bag.

Heres some ideas so far that i got i have some 06 gsxr 600 forks and tripples off my wrecked 06 that are straight and still in good condition going to try and get them on there some how like i modified my yamaha xs250 as seen in the pictures below to use a 08 aprilla 125 inverted forks and a fzr500 rear swingarm with a 160 rear tire with ALOT of milling to make it fit ooo how i regret selling that thing :/ sigh thats why i got the gs to build another cafe racer didnt research much about um just noticed not many 300 cafes just 550s anyone on this thread heard of anyone doing inverted forks on the gs???

Hey mate, welcome! Good to see another twin popping up.

Have a look through Jake's slow going 300 thread here too:

Slow going?!?!?! Watch it Pete! ;)

Welcome to forum. The 300 doesnt lend itself to the cafe conversion very well. the frame is just all wrong. start looking at the lines of the frame with the tank off, you'll see what i mean.

i thought about it when i first got mine. i'm interested in seeing what you do though.

Let me know how those pods work out (if you can get the airbox out without busting it .) I'd be interested to see what your jetting set up is like because i want to do the open triangle originally.

good luck and feel free to hit me up with anything i can help with.

I got no problem hacking things up to make um work got a machine shop here basically so almost anything is possible when i get the time i might end up cuttin off the whole back half in general and try finding a way to mount my old rear subframe off my gsxr it wouldnt be that hard to convert over ive did those many times by the end though no one will think its a 300 untill they actually look at the motor and whats left of the front half of the from i got my cbr929rr at the moment but i love ripping around on a old metric bike every once in awhile and thanks hjacob if i have any questions ill let you know
