A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Will carbs off of a 1981 GS250T fit and function on a 1982 GS300L D model?

also, can anyone let me know where to find a 1982 Suzuki GS300L D model
valve cover, valve cover gaskets, or the original carbs for this bike?
Thanks.

i have a model Z and i know where to get some carbs for that, but i don't know if model D and Z are the same carb wise. 82 gs300L model Z (what i got).

Why do you need new carbs, i just went through my carbs, maybe i can help you.

Finding and buying the stock carbs will be very expensive

Thanks

P.S Im pretty sure you can find the valve cover, and valve cover gaskets on www.partshark.com or maybe www.bikebandit.com

i own 2 1982 GS300Ls. one is a Z model and one is a D model.
the D model one was meant to be a parts bike but when i saw it a wanted to make it run. it was missing some parts.
i can find everything but the carbs.

If you have Z model carbs to sell i would be happy to buy them from you depending on what you want for them.

Z model carbs should do the job just fine.

My carbs are not for sale, sorry.

But if this helps,

these carbs should fit your bike.

82,83, and 85 gs300L (off the top of my head)

Hope this helps

Thanks

GS250 Carbs should work too but the jets may be different in size.

Let me stop by storage to be sure I still have it ..

How about $25 plus shipping ?

Mriddle, I sent you a private message w/ my address - thanks.

Not the same

Not the same

The 1982 "Z" has the choke mounted on the carb, left side pull out. The 1983 "D" uses a cable. A bit of a headache. There is now a 1982 GS300L carb on eBay. #360173008996

I have a "D" carb 95% complete (fuel bowl drain screw missing at least - not sure more) that is clean but I could not adjust the idle so I gave up on it. $20 plus shipping. All the jets, floats etc are there.
