DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Has anybody used/put in a GS750(2v or 4v) gear box in a GS1000 (2v) and if so was it a strate swop? Is there any differance between the two gear boxes? The reson I'm asking is I'm starting to build a GS1000 motor (Tuned) and I dont have a conplet GS1000 gear box. Cheers

not to my knowledge..
never heard of or tried such a swap.

you may pm teamdar...he has a lot of 2 valve knowledge.

The shafts from the 750 are shorter in length from bearing to bearing. I Should have GS1000 gearboxes in stock. I will check and send you a pm. Dar

Cheers all for te replys, I can gear boxes over here but thanks for the offer.

I have one that you could have for postage.

I could have possibly got my father-in-law to transport & you could have picked up from him but he's gone home now... He'll be back later in the year.

You must swap one shaft from the 1000 to the 750 I did the swap on my 79 1000 engine

The shaft that needs to be from the 1000 is the sprocket shaft with the 750 gears swaped on. The swap should give you a quicker first three gears 4th and 5th are the same.

Got a GS750 gear box (2v head type)but the gear coges seem to be the same size/number of teeth on all coges?
The shafts are a shorter lenth to the gs1000 but the coges will interchange.
The only diferance I can see is some of the gs750 coges seem to have more of a angel on the side
I think the gs750 has a bit more of a under cut box than the 1000 so would be worth using it anyway.

Yes I know not the best pics I will try and get some better ones LOL

The first three have different amounts of teeth which changes the ratio. It may not look like that as a assembly but that is how it is. The manual even specs the difference.

Cheers for that, it's always worth checking. :)

while we're talkin' trannies, anyone know of a 6 speed that'll interchange on a GS1100e??? That'd be awesome...
