A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi all, does anyone know if any other model suzuki carbs fit the GS850, CV Carbs, Cheers Wayne

The 550 and 650 also have the same model number on the carbs, but the length of the throttle shaft and inter-carb tubes (fuel and vent) are different lengths.

What do you need?

Hi Steve I need a set for a project that I'm about to start on. Having trouble finding a set for reasonable money and wondered if something like the GSX750 ones fitted as there are plenty of them on ebay at the minute. Thanks Wayne

If what you are calling "GSX750" is a 16-valve engine, I think the spacing is different than the 8-valve 850.

I have not tried it, but I think they are different. :-k

OK thanks Steve, gets a bit confusing with the different model numbers between here and USA , I'll have to just keep looking for a set for an 850 and re mortgage if needs be. Cheers Wayne

Do you have a set of the 32mm carbs on a rack?
If so buy any set of 32mm CV carbs from the 650, 750 + Yams etc then use the fuel tubes and choke assembly from it to get the spacing right.

I have a set of good inlet rubbers (carb to head) to suit BS34ss CV carbs mated to the 850 head, if you go that route.
34's are easier to find.

I spent ages looking for BS32's.
Don't forget that the choke assembly changed in 1982 so depending on the position of your existing choke lever this determines which year of carb you buy.
Unless of course you have an existing rack and you can change the bits over with a small amount of modification. (Don't ask how I discovered this!!!)

Good luck.

Except for the fact that the length of the throttle shaft is also different to accomodate the different spacing on the smaller bikes.

I checked the carbs from a 650 that we have against carbs for an 850 and the throttle shaft is definitely different.

THe GS750 16V and the GS850 use BS32SS carbs. The GS1000, GS1100 all use BS34SS carbs. SOme internal jetting variances from one model to the next.
