A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

If the exhaust is in decent shape. Do not cut it or hack off the mufflers or anything. Sell the complete exhaust, there hard to find in decent shape. Get a different seat or chop the foam. If you want to start upgrading internal engine parts, I hope you have a bank account that looks like a zip code. It can get very exspensive very quick. I would keep the motor stock. Maybe add pods and a 4-1. Maybe upgrade to a dual disc front end. I have a complete front end if you want. I also have a 4-1 vance and hines header if interested..

The Seat...

The Seat...

Here's my .02$...Get rid of the seat or at the very least get a 6 pack of duct tape to remold it and cover it up:D

hahhaha yeah im already working on the seat situation i have about 5000 bucks to spend on her but i wanna do it right and make it my own something sleek and quick maybe something like a sleeper im thinking that would be fun

Only half way reasonable performance upgade is to install some 850 cylinders - Tkent is selling a set in the For Sale forum I believe. After that, add a header, pods and jet kit. Beyond that point you are just wasting money.

Good luck.

Wow...5k$$

Wow...5k$$

That sounds like one of my projects....Put 5K in to something that might be worth 1K when your done??? Lots of fun though:D

DIRT BIKE BARS!!! haha Seriously tho, you'll love the db bars if you do it. Also, I would keep the wheels but have them relaced with Accel db wheels so you can put 17" rubber down. Also a cafe seat and that bad boy would be bangin.

That is not really the right bike to sink a ton of money into if you ever wanted to sell....you won't get your money out. With the economy the way it is keep your money in your wallet.

As mentioned, ditch the seat, change the pipes and exhaust and put on lower bars. Shine it up and ride.

Having gone the 'custom" route on two bikes now I can't recommend it. Time consuming, a bit frustrating and costly (no matter how closely you try to stick to a budget).

My 2cents (Cdn.)

cheers,

These are definitely well placed words of wisdom. Custom always get out of hand and there's no end to what you can do to these things if you start incorporating late model bike parts into the equation.

Good advice on the engine and exhaust. Bad advice for the rest. Plan what you want to do, make sure you can do it, then execute your plan. The heck with what everyone else thinks, do what suits you, unless you plan on trying to reap a profit.

i have a brand new bike this is just going to be my fun rebuild toy
