DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My 82 750e is missing the horn button. The horn itself still works, just doens't have a cover on it so you can press it. Any idea of the best way to replace this? I'm being told that the dealer will have to order the entire headlight/horn switch assembly (although I have NOT gotten that info directly from the dealer yet). Some suggestions would be fantastic.

I have a spare assembly off of my GS750L that I'm not using. I had to replace it is because the on\off switch for the headlight didn't work.

Seems I'm doing a lot of paypal sales of my unused parts this week.

Is the button itself removeable? Or would I need to disassemble both units to switch my headlight switch into yours? Wait... that brings me to wondering why yours had an on/off switch for the headlight at all. Help 8O!

Well, as far as the on/off switch goes...

All the left hand assemblies have an on\off ability. You have to modify the newer ones with a dremel tool to be able to access the OFF function.
The old ones (79-81) come with the ability to turn the headlight off. The newer ones you have to do the mod to.

The one that I would sell came with the ability to turn off built in and didn't require any modification at all. However, the function of the switch is spotty at best. I tried cleaning it with contact cleaner but couldn't figure out where the slight disconnect was at. I bought another assembly from the salvage yard off of a younger gs750 and modified it so that I could use the on/off function.

I believe the assembly would have to be taken apart to get at that little button cover thingie.

Sounds good to me. What do you want for it?

For the whole assembly 10.00
Shipping shouldn't be more than 2 dollars.
Do you have paypal?
