If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello all you Canadian motopicklers. I researched the looks, size, quality, and fit of various windshields and I would like to purchase National's StreetShield EX. I will be installing it on my 1978 Suzuki GS750 C. Trouble is like so many great products, it doesn't seem to be available in Canada. I am willing to net order this part. Does anyone out there know if it is sold anywhere in Canada? Alternatively has any Canadian ordered US motorcycle parts from US distributors that DO NOT prepare any Canada customs paperwork? Did it work out OK? I am looking to avoid paying a customs broker more than the cost of the actual windshield. Thanks in advance.

get it sent by united states postal service,no brokerage fees.

OK Thanks. Have you done this yourself? I thought custom papers needed to be filled out in quin-zikulate???

I bought many motorcycle parts from the states, and the seller fills out whatever forms are needed. there are no custom duties for motorcyle parts. as i stated before ,get it shipped united states postal services.do not use ups or fedex, they charge brokerage fees.

I have to pay customs here in BC. At the PO if the package is over 20$ in value there is an 8$ PO charge to pick up the package and customs has usually opened the package and assigned duty.
If the package is less than 20$ in value the 8$ doesn't apply...it's a charge the PO contractor puts on the package for handling. I think I've always paid duty on M/C parts...never heard of not?

In any case, there is no problem having things shipped from US dealers. I do it often with no problem. Don't use USPS however...they charge an arm and a leg for 'brokerage fees'.

You might get a break & not pay 'brokerage' fees, but generally you can expect to pay a customs import duty....a percentage of the declared value on the product......UPS are the biggest rip-off artists in the business...they will charge you a brokerage fee even if the customs do not charge any duty on your windshield...avoid them like the plague.
Alternatively you could look for a Canadian distributor ......many parts suppliers will order you products from the US, and give you a price break to offset the gst/pst taxes you will pay.....check Parts Canada, Motovan etc.

Don't forget to check ebay...you might get a great deal, & some sellers will be willing to 'gift' you the item, as gifts are supposedly exempt from duty (upto $50.00?).

there are no custom duties for most products manufatured in the united states or mexico, because of the free trade agreement. But if you want to be sure, call customs at 1-800-461-9999 .you may have to pay taxes gst.if i am wrong i will eat my finger nails and apologize for my misinformation.
