A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How do we feel about individual, 4 into 4 headers??

I'm putting together a picture of where I want to go with my 1100E and I like the idea of individual pipes, maybe some sweeping/curving in them, with a slashed pipe-end.

What say you all...?

posted the same 'feeling' some weeks ago. Even had a shop give me a price estimate. It is possible but it is costly...

38 mm outer diameter pipe (34 mm inner diameter) stainless steel
the 'brushed' aluminium look
exactly bent to match the current 'curves' of the original headers...

still in love with the idea, but one header pipe costs as much as the two new
Marving mufflers, so I didn't go for it...yet...

Stainless would definitely be more expensive than a milder steel.

See if you can find a shop/guy that deals with ceramic coatings as the guy I've been talking with reckons there's a process out there that can leave them with a finish "like polished aluminium".

Next time I see him, I'll ask more questions about it and try come back here with anything I find out.

A very Honda idea. Looks amazing. I'd love to find a cheap (er) 6-6 for my CBX

I love it although I went 2 to 1 on my 450.

Mainly I just want to show you what the ceramic coating looks like, and this is just mild steel with the ceramic coating:

It will darken up a little with use apparently but I haven't used it yet aside from the first short run...

Hope that helps as far as finish goes...

Thanks Pete!! That's a lovely finish. Something very silky about it...

No probs Hatch, and yeah I'm really happy with that finish, I specifically didn't want chrome this time around...

Blue noser... mmmm...

That's the most... err... interesting? use of a CBX 6 I've ever seen...
