    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well sorta....

proof_of_life+re-wire_runs.jpg

Installed a replacement harness and re-wired much of the fuse block panel and ignition module area with new soldered and shrink tubed connections, etc. As you can see, it powers up nicely with the borrowed battery from my Predator. The engine cranks over and makes spark at the plug wires. Now for the good news. Even without the carbs installed, they are still in pieces on the workbench, a spray of carb cleaner in the intake boots and it fires right up. I mean GRRRR!.. running engine! Full on running motor for like 2 seconds :dancing:! We are well on our way to working motorcycle. Of course, once I have the carbs back on it and can prove it goes in gear and moves under its own power then the real fun begins. Engine out and everything gets cleaned and detailed including new paint, polished bits, suspension upgrades and the whole ball of wax. BTW: I am still taking requests and suggestions on which way to take this.

Here ya go.. Crusty Old GS1100E. What would you rather see sitting in my garage instead?

Nice 14, Your garage looks a lot like mine.

Dirty, freezing and full of motorcycles and motorcycle parts? Gotta love that! this GS1100 wants to be slammed and stretched.. I can hear it telling me to do it.

Anyone tell me what year Bandit 1200 swingarms work with my frame? Man I got a fever for this project right now.. can't ride so I gotta do something I guess?

Sweet 14...I'm in the SLC area too so if you ever want a hand lemme know.

Stretched and slammed? Street and strip bike? You ever go out to Rocky Mountain Raceway?

Every Midnight Drag race during the summer. I don't do the series races cuz I just can't get off work enough to make it possible. Besides.. I just run for fun and to be faster than my last run. Points accumulation, dial-ins, etc in the series races seems like work to me. I just want to go fast.

We should get together... I have a lot of questions for someone who has done as much to your bike as you have. Too bad riding is pretty much out, at least until say March.
