I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I'm looking at these K & L oval air filters for my 80 gs1100. I can't find any info on them anywhere on the internet. Are they cheap knock offs like Emgo or good quality for a reasonable price ($19.99 each)

In my opinion cheap is cheap. I bought k&n ovals at K&n. $79 and you will know the difference. Super product.

knock off's are bad (I hear). I always go with quality brands anyway. Vance and Hines or K&N are two that I know of. I have some vance and hines from my gs750e that I am getting rid of, but they aren't in that great of shape. let me know if you are interested

pods ? do you have pics ? how much ? just curious.

They look to be gauze like K&N, not just crappy screens like Emgo. Do they have the little velocity stacks inside or just square corners?

Well, this is what the write up says "The most advanced air filters available. Integrated V & H velocity stack cuts turbulence, aids air flow tapered oval design. Recommended for use with aftermarket exhaust and/or carbs. Requires jetting change on stock carbs."

What do you think?

The real K&N filters can be had for under $120 shipped, cheaper if you're patient.

On the other hand, if your stock airbox is good, stay with what you have and save all the trouble rejetting.

It doesn't say to oil them but then again it doesn't say not to.
If they don't mention it, odds are they do not use oil.
I would (and did) play it safe and go with the K&N pods. I have also heard good things about the APE units (not quite as expensive), but have never seen nor used any. Not sure if those are available in your neck of the woods.

I love my APEs. tried to get the tuning right with cheapo pods, never quite could get it dialed in. The APEs made the tuning cake!

I also have the APEs on my 1100E....
I replaced a well worn K&N set and the APE ones seem to measure up...

fwiw if you watch Amazon the K&Ns occasionally come up cheap. I got mine new for $35 shipped for all 4.
