A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Gs 1100 G 1982. Where can I get luggage racks etc for it

Haunt eBay, post in the parts wanted section here, or make your own.

The '82+ 850 is very similar to the 1100G so accessory parts should interchange. Take note though that there are differences between the regular G model and the GL cruiser models - accessories like racks may not interchange. And the early model 850/1000G have a different frame so early racks won't fit a later bike unless the rack itself is adjustable.

The KG Engineering racks with adjustable legs fit a range of different models - the legs telescope and there are side plates with lots of different mounting holes so they will accommodate a range of bikes. These racks are the most widely applicable so you might want to focus on finding one of those.

Edit: check this link to see what a KG rack looks like... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...40&_trksid=m39&_nkw=220348891287&_nd1=&_fvi=1

Visit your local bike wrecker, but beware some wreckers want an arm and a leg for parts.

Luggage

Hello
I have been using Krauser luggage for the past 34 years without a problem. It's the older style from the 70's. I have a white set on my 79 GS850 and a black set on my 83 GS1100G.
You can find them on ebay, just key in Krauser in the search window.
Goodluck.

did you check any web sites?
I would go to denniskirk, or bikebandidt. thos are my favorite. also you should look in the mega welcome for sites that will help you.

The best fit would likely be from a GS1100GK, if it suits you.

It is not a basic rack, but comes with rails for sidebags.

I do not know what they sell for now, but shipping is expensive because of the size.

I bought one for my '82 G, (complete with a bit of road rash that the PO covered with paint). It installed with only minimal work and a few spacers.
