A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I'm rebuilding my carbs, and the first one I took apart, I see that the main jet size is 130, and stock is 112.5. Is this too big? My '82 GS750E does have a 4-to-1 exhaust and pods set up on it. Thoughts?

First off you have to compare apples to apples . Stock jets are mikuni. Aftermarket dynojet measure different. The mikuni size equivalent is approx 10 off the DJ size. If your jets are part of a DJ kit it sounds about right which is what should be there for 4:1 and pods. Go to the DJ website they list the contents of the kit for your bike. Also if the needles have grooves it is DJ.

I don't see a DJ130 on the main jet, it just says 130 and there is a small square on the left of the number.

I'm most likely going to upgrade to the DJ jets anyways, will perform much better I'm sure. I just thought it was weird, and possibly why it was running weird (very sporadic acceleration).

Is it a DJ kit or not? If oh already have one then you will be chasing your tail.

All the other jets have the Mikuni trademark square on them, and are stock sizes. The main jet was the only different size, so I don't believe it is a DJ kit.

if your needles are adjustable then you have a jet kit....
if not you don't...simple eh?

jet kits do not come with pilot's....eh?

Depending on the condition (how much oil) and brand/type of pods and how much/little packing is in your muffler, you will probably want to drop down to 127.5's or even 125's on the main jets.
