    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

what are the screws for in the manifold boots? Where can you get these other than through the suzuki dealer. I try to avoid them when possible as they have an attitude about these old bikes. What to sell you new instead of helping with the old.

If I have to fit these screws out to get them off and new o-rings put in I might as well change them.

Are you possibly referring to the vacuum taps for synchronizing? One screw in each intake?

If you're talking about the vacuum port screws, (on the head, not the rubber manifold) they shouldn't need replacing unless a real butcher's been working on them.
If you mean the bolts that hold the manifolds (or the vacuum port screws), around here, besides the Suzuki dealer, the local parts shop sells them. Home Depot has metric bolts. Hardware store. Just take yours in and match the length and thread pitch. Get Allens.
Use a very good fitting tool to remove the old ones. An impact tool works best for me.

Here is a picture of boots. Is the adjusting screw here where a synchronizer is attached?

Still not sure if this is the screws you are talking about, but each boot has a tap on the side with a screw in it to seal it. The screw is removed and an adapter is threaded in for the manometer hose.

The manifolds in the E-bay pic have screws that are removed to install the vacuum tool adapter tubes.

The screw with the allen key in it is a 6mm diameter (I don't know the length offhand) and the screw near the bottom plugs the synchronizing port. When you sync the carbs, you remove this screw and screw in the adaptors temporarily.

It's just a simple allen head screw, 5mm thread diameter, with a washer. No o-ring is needed on my bike.
