    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

more turn signal crap

yes i did searching...if i missed it then im going more blind...

bought a 3 prong to put in so they blink...nope they stay on...

2 of my wires have power...one about 12v the other around 9...one only provides a 12v...the other wont spark when grounded even...

what in the world causes that one

heres a diagram i made below lol..looking where the relay slides in from the top

One wire is for the turn signal 12V voltage, one is for the running light 12V voltage, and the last is the ground.
If they don't blink it "normally" means there is not enough current draw on the line. It needs 2 bulbs; if only 1 bulb lights up it will not blink, it will just stay lit.

yep got 2 bulbs per side...working condition

That is because there is not a single 3 prong flasher that you can buy at ANY auto parts store that will directly replace the Suzuki flasher.

Many (most?) of the 3 prong flashers use the third prong as a ground for some internal circuitry. Suzuki uses the third prong to receive a signal from the control unit to tell the flasher itself when to stop its flashing.

If you want to retain your self-cancelling signals, you will have to get a SUZUKI flasher, which you will not find at any auto parts store.

well that explains it then lol...i dont mind the self cancel...
 
ok wired up the realy life cliffs thing said...mine still dont flash...everything else works...both front and rear lights stay on..and the light on the gauges is on..but no flashy flashy...

i got the relay to click on and off with they key off...it turned on the dash lights...that was connecting it to the orange/g wire and 12v to the other side...
 
yep everything was checked out...i went up to where my stwitch wires connect to the harness on the right of the bike....

i found the 12v going into the turn signals...cut it in half and put the flasher in between and what do you know it flashed...

between owners some dumbass has prolly hacked wires an got stuff bas ackwards...

so it safe to to run 2 wires back to the orginal location? or should i run it through a fuse?

but a mangled harness on an old 80s bike...is it possible to find a unhacked one?
 
I have seen some wiring harnesses on Ebay as well as some other salvage yards that have Internet sites. Post up something in the Parts wanted section here as well.
