A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

my ass is too high....need some help

ok, i have decided that i cant really get a good footprint on the ground when i am stationary so i have decided to lower the back end by an inch or two.
i have had new tie rods made for the rear suspension but my problem is i need to prop the bike up by the frame rather than the rear paddock stand so the rear suspension hangs freely.
any one got any tips to help me out?
will the side stand take the weight if if tipped it over until the rear wheel is off the ground and then chocked up the r/h side or is a proper built stand which utilises the bottom rear engine mount a better option?

any help appreciated please

Tie rods? :-k
You talking about a hard-tail?

Evidently there is no centerstand? :o

Also, is it your ass or your bike's that's too high? :-k
Makes a difference as to what you need to do to rectify that situation.

I regularly tilt my bike ZRX1200 up on the sidestand until the rear wheel is off the ground to oil my chain. It's a 2 man job with one at the rear oiling and spinning the rear wheel, but the side stand will take it and you really don't need a center stand if done this way.

Block under the engine part of the frame (like a temporary centre stand)?
not as easy as it sounds, its a monoshock conversion and the bottom rocker mount bolts to the bottom rear frame.

its a gsxr1100 monoshock conversion, as above so there is no centerstand. just need the back end lowered by an inch or 2.
