A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone know of ANYONE that specializes in doing this or has a parts hook up so they can get the properparts to do the job. I have a hard time finding all the parts I need.

I have a 79 GS1000 that needs a complete carb overhaul and also has a pilot needle broke in it that we cant get out at all.

We also have an 80 CB650 that needs the same treatment but has 2 pilot needles broken in it.

Both are mechancial carbs NOT CV carbs.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. The carbs are the only things keeping these bikes from running like new and I REALLY want to get the GS running it was my greatgrandfathers and I want to restore it to factory or close conditon. Thanks in advance for any help.

There's a guy that post here in the Medina Lake area that does carb work. Look for post by wiredgeorge. He has a wesite too.

Found a guy here in Texas down in the hill country that specializes in rebuilding these carbs exactly the way I want them to. Thanks for all the help. I'm going to give him a call and order up a set of carbs.\

Thanks a ton Billy you pointed me in the right direction.

Cool. Glad you got the hook up, Josh! Will be good to see another ole GS up and running.:-D

Rebuilt Carbs

Rebuilt Carbs

There is a guy in Texas George Lesho lesho@truevine.net He rebuilds and repairs carbs and even tests them. He is a very good honest man who stands behind his work. I had some missing and damaged parts that he took care of no extra charge. Strongly recommend

GReat, he is very nice and wont do you wrong, i had the screens missing in all 4 of my carbs, he ordered and replaced them no charge, also did some work on one of the bodies that was damaged when someone messed up a thread for a jet. He really takes his time and does a good job.
Glad to hear it...
