A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Looking to replace the brake lines on my 1980 GS850G.

Good quality, good price.

Looking for ready made pull and replace.

I have been looking around the internet and find all sorts of lines for all sorts of prices, so I thought I would ask to see what to avoid, and what to buy...

Suggestions please. Links to sellers would be cool.

I ordered Goodridge quick-connect lines from Z1.

All you do is select the length lines you need, and order the quick-connect Banjos to match.

The lines already have a Nut attached to each end, so you just screw em onto the goodridge banjos....plug and play...NO crimping.

I kept the stock T-splitter setup...just plugged up the new lines.
I prefer that older look....

Think I spent around $115 for the front Lines, Banjos and new Washers....didn't bother ordering new banjo bolts.

Stopping power is Awesome now

Consider Paragon brake lines, they make specific front/rear kits for common bikes like my '82 850G. You can order them in a black shade so they look like the originals if you don't like shiny bling. Goodridges work well too, they're pretty easy to put together.

Found these threads using the Advanced Search feature...toggle Titles Only...and search on "Lines"

There are MANY more threads as well but just trying to get you started...

Thank you. For some reason, every time I attempt to search on this site I get errors. I do try to search before I ask.

This is a wonderful suggestion and works for most searchable items on this forum, but, unfortunately, only works if the item you want is actually in the title.

How many times have you seen a title that says "Brake Problems", then goes on to ask how to find a source for braided lines? That thread will not be returned in the search.

So please remember to be descriptive with your thread titles. :o

By the way, the title of this thread is PERFECT.

I just ordered a line from Rennsports(they are on ebay) in Canada, $33 for the line with shipping. Should be here this week I think, I will post a pic and a bit of a review once it's on.
