I tried my new clutch today and its slipping.
It slips at 4000 to 5000 rpm in 2nd and higher gears. Really didn't try it too much. Put in new Suzuki steels and fibers, 10 of each, new springs and new 20W-50 Yamalube. Then tried 3 stock springs and 3 of the HD that were in the bike orginally. It still slipped, so I tried the 6 HD springs and it still slips. Its also hard to adjust the clutch so that there is no drag, yet still be able to shift it. Its sort of a small zone with less than a mm of freeplay.
Is it possible I glazed the fibers or steels? All told, the fibers probably soaked in oil 30 hours or more. Too much?
Should I try some 10W40 instead?
Didn't put the piano wire back in, Ray said it wasn't needed.
How can I fix this?
