    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi, i have an issue with my oil pressure light where the light was on when below than 1500rpm. It never happen before, could the possibility as below;

A. Oil pressure switch faulty.
B. Oil pump faulty.
C. Could be my rpm meter faulty not reading the rpm properly as before the internal spring faulty/snap, modified it & used it back.
D. or the idiot light become idiot :mad:

The oil pressure switch is a very simple spring loaded plunger; when oil flows out of the pump it pushed the plunger out of the way which disrupts the ground and turns off the light. It's an extremely reliable device so I doubt anything is wrong. Likewise, the oil pump is almost foolproof too. If your bike has an aftermarket oil cooler, the pick-up adapter could be bypassing some flow away from the switch. Not sure what to suggest other than make sure you have a high quality motorcycle or diesel engine oil of the correct weight range.

Thanks Nessism, i didn't install oil cooler. Maybe the diesel engine oil i use like you said, i use 15-40~mobil delvac. I've cross check before use & its similar with shell rotella. I will try another diesel engine oil in next servicing. See how it goes...
P/S: Shell Rotella not available @ Malaysia but have RimulaX 15-40.

The oil you are using is fine. There is something else going on.

koolaid_kid ~ I have strong feeling that oil pressure switch &/or the rpm meter fooling me as i tempered it to fix the broken spring. I try to check this two thing first & will post the update.

Not understanding your concern about the tachometer relative to the oil pressure light.
Even at a very slow idle the oil light should go out. SOmetimes oil light will go out just cranking on the starter motor.
