A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It looks like my "new" 78 1000 has some leaky cam shaft seals. Is there a good quality source for these as well as some other seals & gaskets? I need fork seals & there is an unidentified leak low somewhere. I have seen one source mentioned, for carb o-rings, numerous times (the name escapes me at this moment). Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks

We use http://www.cycleorings.com for the carb stuff. Robert Barr is a forum member and sells a great product. If it's the half moon seals you need I'm pretty sure they are Suzuki specific as are most gaskets. You can get them online or from your local Suzuki dealer. Most other bearings and seals are rather generic and can be had from a local bearing shop or online with various suppliers. Alls Balls make bearing and seal kits for just about everything, saves you the down time and hassle of pulling things apart to get bearing numbers and seal sizes before ordering.

Thanks Sandy!
Cranbrook is beautiful country! My wife & I honeymooned there a few years back.

Where in Montana do you hang your hat. Montana is a big state. You could be an hour from here or six.

It's a hike from here to Cranbrook. I'm in Cascade near Great Falls.

Yup it's a bit of hike for sure and a beautiful part of your country you live in. We spent a week or more a few years back poking around east of Great Falls in the Charlie Russell Wildlife Area. Did some paddling on the Missouri, hiking, biking and traveling some great back roads with the old red truck. A wonderful time.

Yes beautiful Area! I also have a BigFoot, Nice camper mines old, been fixing it up, Cam seals remove wash clean area and put some yama bond 4 around the seal area and replace, I don't think recall ever having to actually replace any just seal em up. ! I also Like the Loctite Gassket Eliminator (Purple Stuff) I actually got my friends old (1977) Sportster to stop leaking from the side covers using that stuff!!

So, I ordered just over $100 worth of parts from Babbitt's Parts House. The shipping was $30!!!! My biggest gripe is that it's been over a week and I still don't have my parts!!!! I'm guessing it will be Monday before I get them! I didn't even get a tracking number. For $30 you'd think I'd at least get a tracking number!!!

Sorry. Rant over.
I will be looking in to other Suzuki parts sources next time.
