A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

SH775 location help needed 81 1100e

I am a firm believer in the SH775, have it on 3 bikes and looking to put one on the '81. However, I don't want to do anything that can't be easily reversed in case I find an eBay wacko that wants to give me 5k for it. On my '83 I put it on the backside of the plate from where the RR is normally mounted, and modified the airbox to fit around it. Anyone have a suggestion on the best place to mount on this? I was thinking the rear cowl, but the wiring would likely be too long, and no airflow. On a bracket where the horns are, still long wires but better airflow. The airbox is so big the locations are limited, and I don't have a working imagination, or great fabrication skills....

You mean that you would remove the SH-775 before gouging the potential buyer? No, you must have mistyped! Anyway, here's my quickee spot- easy to check and remove. Don't worry about airflow- mine barely gets warm after 3 hours.

I think he means that some wako willing to pay $5k would want it to be completely stock.

I just did mine today (82 1100E) and installed it on the back side of the fusebox plate and was going to suggest that, but I see you figured it out before me. I have pod filters so have lots of room, hope you find a good spot that doesn't foul the airbox.

I switched the positions of the ignitor and the R/R on my '80 1100E.

The 80-81 unfortunately don't have that spot available. Great place for the 82-83 though!
