I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi, I'm starting to work some on my 82 11e. I have heard different things on pod filters vs box. What are some ideas on this? I am kinda thinking about putting pods on mine, I am deffinatley putting a header and jet kit in. I got a stage 1-3 kit and I'm not sure if just an aftermarket box filter with the exhaust would justify a stage 3 kit. What do you think?

a true stage 3 kit would consist of pod filters i believe.

i'm sure you know that a header and pod filters will help the engine breathe better, but will require some retting. the Stage 3 kit might help with it, but you might have some trial and error work after it still.

I too have an 1100E. I installed a header and stage 3 jet kit along time ago and acually kind of wished I'd just gone with the stage 1 kit. It's not that my bike isn't fast, It is. But you know, after awhile you get used to it and it feels like normal. I don't regret putting in the stage 3 but I have had to fiddle with the carbs a couple times a year due to it being more sensitive to temp extremes. The stage 3 jet kit or any for that matter seem to give a temporary high. You have to understand I installed mine 17 years ago and would have to ride a box stock 1100E to make a direct comparison. Don't let me talk you out of what you want to do. I'm just letting you know my opinion. One thing I got out of it was a pretty good idea on what to look for as far as jetting goes.

Yeah Jeff, I know the feeling of "getting used to it." That is the reason for all this to begin with. What I was getting at with the jets is, is a 3 too much for it if I don't go with the pods? I was thinking that a stage 2 would be closer to the mark for that setup. But I just got an email from k&n and it seems that they are out of stock and have discontinued that kit. Hmm, I knew $35 was too nice of a deal. Anyhoo, if it turns out that 3 is too much, I now have the option of getting one of those.
I was asking about the box vs pods cause I have heard that the pods can be a bitch to tune right and you may loose a little in the lower end of the power band, and torqe is what I like. Not to mention the rain problems I had on my other bike with pods.
Damnit, I just don't know.
Well, I know one thing, after doing all that, and a clutch too, I am not going to feel like messing around with it too much to have it run right.

You would definately need the pods with a stage 3 kit. If I were you I'd go with the k&n replacement filter and the stage one or 2. Those mods alone would be pretty straight forward and your bike should run good with a minumum of fuss. Carbs with pod filters can be a real pain to dial in correctly unless you happen to have an exhaust gas analyzer laying around. It's not so much hard but very time consuming. And as you mentioned, drivability does get compromised somewhat. Pods could be a problem when riding in the rain from what I've heard.
I hope this helps some.

I was kinda leaning towards an after market box filter and probably a stage 2, thanks.
