Ok, here we go..
I'm to the point in the 550 transmission replacement that I'm ready to split the cases.
I have removed all the bolts that I can see (including those hidden under grease by the drive shaft).
Manual said to lightly tap around the cases with a rubber mallet. So I started, lightly.. then as it became apparent that nothing was happening, I gradually increased the force behind the blows. Still nothing.
I know that prying is out of the question cause I'm not wanting to have to buy a whole new engine, so are there any other ideas??
I was hoping to have this part done in the next couple of hours before the wife gets home.
