A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

still tinkering..a ? though...

well the GS650 is running fairly good now...but...it seems to me that I've got too many damn vacuum hoses!...there's a vacuum hose coming from around #4 carb that doesnt't seem to have any use...we plugged it into the fuel gauge that apparently appears where it goes,but??...does it?? plus it *wyes* off with another hose that we had to plug off!...it's weird..we didn't take the carbs and hoses off so I'm not sure where they came from..any ideas?...thanks!

Glad to hear it's running!! Let's try the carb hoses from the top ... you should have atmospheric vent hoses that come from between #1 and #2 and #3 and #4 - normally they just hang behind the airbox. You should also have an overflow tube from the fuel sending unit on the tank (in case the unit ever starts to leak!!) that should also just hang behind the airbox with the other two vent hoses. The vacuum line, that goes to the petcock, should come off of the #2 carb - just to the side of the pilot screw. This is all based on CV carbs, what year model is your bike?? 8)

Mark it's an '82 GS650...I think they are vacuum so if they were left unplugged wouldn't it affect the performance...like it probably wouldn't idle right if at all...I got the prime hose from the petcock hooked back up right but the hose from around #4 carb just doesn't seem to have a place to go!?

Mark's instructions are correct for your bike with CV carbs. Hose from between #3 and #4 is a vent hose, routes up and over the airbox. The only vacuum line is from the #2 intake and it goes to the petcock.

ok,Thanks Dan..and Mark!...I'll work on it more as time allows and let you know my progress...it's a trial and error thing and I have the 1400 Intruder to ride..sooo...I've got plenty of time!...:)
