If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi I'm new to the forum, I live in Venezuela. and here it is very difficult to get original parts for these old bikes. I buy all the parts in the U.S., but the rings are reached me a suzuki gs 1000 and more you try will not work. and which are mounted as by 2 mm. My question is, can I use other rings? either another bike, another bike model new, or old, or any vehicle. use of a vehicle would not like me much because these bikes are air cooled and its alloy are different as I have understood. really appreciate a lot who can help me, and finally excuse my English, it is not very good but I'm desperate to make my bike run

Rob, the 1000's rings are 70.0mm which are 1.0mm O/S for the 850's.

(that is if I read you intent correctly)

I got hung up on this a few years ago trying to put an 850 top end on my 750.

In the end it was quicker and easier to put in a 1000 engine than to get the correct 850 rings.

hello, good morning, first of all I want to thank everyone and tell them that this model renault not exist in Venezuela but the measures will try to find one like it, my other question is, I have understood that the rings, engine air cooled have a different water-cooled alloy, tell me that the cooled air are harder or something, they will not know of any bike that use rings that resemble him

Doubt you are going to have a lot of options regarding the ring material. Suzuki's top ring is chrome which is hard, but wouldn't worry about that. Just look for something that fits.

Hello Edwardo,

The rings you need should be 69.0mm X 1.2mm X 1.2mm X 2.5mm and if I read this chart correctly, these should work. https://www.hastingsmfg.com/RingFinderDiametricalDetails.aspx?AppMACD=2.717

Hastings part# 2C4995

That number looks like it will fit... 1998-on Renault 1.2L, D7F, CL10 (maybe you can find a local supplier?)

Those rings seem to be 1.5mm wide Dale. Widen the grooves on the piston?

Somewhere I got my numbers crossed. Unfortunately the rings I got from Stan are at home so I can't re-check my numbers.
