Swing Arm Bolt Stuck, help needed

I was doing maintenance on my 1980 GS1000S and while I had the rear wheel out I noticed a little play in the swing arm bearings.

But have been unable to remove the bolt from the swing arm assembly to check what's up with them.

I removed the nut and the bolt will turn with a socket wrench, it's firm but not frozen, I have used some penetrating oil but it's probably not getting to where it needs to get to.

I've reinstalled the nut without the washer and tried using an 8lb mini sledge hammer with a block of hardwood to protect the threads and it will not budge.
The swing arm moves up and down freely.

I'm reluctant to use heat as that may damage paint on the frame or the nickel finish on the swing arm. It's a stock swing arm, just nickel plated.

Any ideas on how to remove it are welcome.

That bolt must be fused (corroded) to the spacer. Maybe try to rattle it loose with a flat set in a air chisel.

Take another long bolt or old screwdriver and, placing it on the end of the swingarm bolt, hit it on the head with a hammer. You might even try using a jack under the swingarm to slightly push it up

Don't be a pussy. Add heat or whatever you need. fire it up cherry red and pound the sheit out of it. It is all stell and pretty solid so don't go half assed on it. A good pounding and it will come out.

Been there and done that. Trust me, you can't kill anything.

Go for it!.

Got it out

Got it out

Well I finally figured a way to heat the bolt up with out burning the frame paint, just put a washer and the wheel spacer on the bolt and gave it a good amount of heat until I saw some smoke coming out, did this on both sides as I wasn't sure which side was stuck.

After I was done with the heat, I got a big drift and my 8lb mini sledge and hit about 10 times, I finally felt it move, the bike was moving across the floor every time I hit it.
Turns out it was the right side bearing that was seized, the bushing had stuck it's self to the bolt.

Looks like I will need a new bolt, one bushing and 1 or 2 bearings, depending on if I can get just one bearing out without destroying the other one.
The left side is OK which is the one that normally rusts out because that's the side the water runs to when the bike is on the side stand.

Looks like the Boise Beauty will be off the road for a few days awaiting parts unless I borrow some from my other bike. :D

Thanks for the suggestions, they helped and I appreciate it.
